Who We Are

Who We Are

Canaan Community Services (CCS) is a non-profit organisation based in Malaysia, established in 2022. Despite being a new entity, our team comprises individuals with nearly a decade of experience in volunteer work and community service. We are a collective of dedicated individuals who have faced life’s challenges and are now committed to creating opportunities for others.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the quality of life in the Taman Sri Muda area by providing essential services such as feeding the poor, offering free education, distributing back-to-school kits, running community programs, and promoting social activism. We also provide counseling and coaching to support personal and community growth.

Our Vision

Driven by a vision to serve humanity, we strive to foster a sense of community and empathy. We believe in the power of humanities to help us understand others through their languages, histories, and cultures, ultimately teaching empathy and fostering moral, spiritual, and intellectual growth.

Our Story

The founder of CCSA, Mr. Prakash Parthipan, born on December 30, 1988, grew up in a poor and broken family, facing numerous hardships from a young age. The separation of his parents added to the challenges he encountered, but these experiences shaped his resilience and determination.

Knowing what poverty means since childhood, Prakash understands the survival of the fittest. Despite the adversities, he persevered and completed a Diploma in Multimedia. He ventured into video production and is now an independent film director in Malaysia. In addition to his career in film, Prakash is also a pastor at a local Christian church in Shah Alam and a traveling minister as an evangelist.

Driven by his own life experiences, with nearly 18 years of experience in serving the community through social welfares, NGOs and churches, Prakash established Canaan Community Services Association (CCSA) in 2022 with nearly a decade of volunteer work behind him. Together as a team, Prakash Parthipan and CCSA are striving to make an impact in the local community for a brighter future. Unlike common NGOs that focus solely on feeding the poor, CCSA envisions making a lasting impact on the next generation. Therefore, most of the programs and activities of CCSA involve education, character building, and moral input for children and youths.

Under his leadership, CCSA provides essential services such as feeding the poor, offering free education, and running various community programs. Prakash’s journey from a difficult childhood to becoming a community leader is a testament to his strength and dedication. Through CCSA, he aims to inspire others to join in creating opportunities and support for those in need.

Prakash’s story is a powerful reminder that adversity can fuel a commitment to making a positive difference in the world. His work at CCSA continues to impact countless lives, fostering a sense of belonging and hope within the community.
